UK Tour 2019 – Step Outta Time

Award-winning videographer Matt Abourezk was invited to play drums for a summer 2019 10-show UK tour with his all-time favorite band, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. While on tour, he set his camera up at a few of the shows and videotaped the performances. This song from the tour is “Step Outta Time”. (Audio is from the Linton Festival, and video from five different venues in the UK). Matt says “Special thanks to the Slambovians, John Warner (for graciously providing some extra video footage of the Linton Festival) and to my buddy, the incredible RJ Mac Cárthaigh who also shared this tour experience with me as the UK Bass player.”

‘Kickin’ Up A Soundstorm’ – New Band Documentary!

This weekend at The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival we’re celebrating the release of ‘Kickin’ Up A Soundstorm’ – a new music documentary that features us with everyone in the Dance Tent last summer, The Immortal Jellyfish of Slambovia, a bit of band history shared for the first time – and some really cool interviews!!! This new DVD and our new UK EP will be a Festival Exclusive!!! A Victor Moore Film. #newmusic #festival #beez #musicdocumentary

Kickin’ Up A Sound Storm (Promo) from Showset Productions on Vimeo.

Liner Notes: A music/documentary by filmmaker Victor Moore capturing the performance of The Slambovian Circus of Dreams at New York’s Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in 2018 in the Dance Tent. Interviews with founding members of the band reveal the never heard history of the band from the beginning. The story is enhanced by fans, friends and a performance that caught the ‘lightning in a bottle’ – that elusive magic that comes when the audience and performers become one in a transcendant timeless moment. Welcome to Slambovia!

‘The Never Was’

We finished the final mix of a song for the new album on the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. ‘The Never Was’, a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice on that day, and throughout the ages. Here is a small part of it for you to hear…
A special thank you to producer Dio Tadin, who has been at our side and a great ally in the Slambovian Culture Wars, down in the creative trenches – that’s what doing an album requires!
We’ll be playing ‘The Never Was’ and other new ones at at this weekend’s shows – spread the word!
Rams Head On Stage, Thursday June 13 – Annapolis, MD
The Tin Pan, Friday June 14 – Richmond, VA

For you northerners, see you at the Clearwater Festival in the Dance Tent Sunday…

This Weekend in MA – Iron Horse June 1st, Passim June 2nd

This weekend the band is at Northampton’s Iron Horse Music Hall Saturday June 1, 7:00 pm. Then on to Cambridge for a Slambovian Underground show at Club Passim on Sunday, June 2, 7:30 pm. For more info about the trio show, see below…

Band members Joziah Longo, Tink Lloyd and Sharkey McEwen appear in a limited number of engagements this year as The Slambovian Underground – a trio that performs a full complement of Slambovian standards plus some special material rarely heard at full band shows. Longo’s original and compelling songwriting combine with McEwen’s engaging electric guitar work and Lloyd’s multi-instrumental touches in an intimate setting.  These shows offers a rare opportunity to take a peek behind the “Slambovian Curtain,” to experience the inner workings and essential music-making of the original creative core of the band in a relaxed setting with artists and friends.

The Slambovian Underground had their debut performance at Club Passim in Cambridge in December 2018 and were immediately booked for a return engagement in June! Don’t miss out on a chance to hear this format that is getting a lot of buzz right now!
